Although we’ll never get over the death of lovely lawyer Pierre Clément, it’s back to business as usual for the frazzled French cops of Spiral, as the plot to nab the dangerous Zach comes to fruition, Gilou faces disciplinary action (and not the good sort), and Berthaud comes to terms with her pregnancy.
With the departure of Camille, there’s bound to be a new dynamic at work on the island of St Marie; her replacement will surely shake up bumbling Humphrey, revitalising the storylines and setting a new direction for the formulaic slaughter-and-scenery series. So what massive changes are we treated to in this episode? Nothing. Absolutely nowt. The formula remains the same as ever; an assortment of well-known faces appears on the island, one is killed, and there’s a limited list of suspects, each of whose motive is paraded in order.
