FOX UK snaps up full season of Jack Irish

According to two news sources this morning, FOX UK has acquired the rights to Australian series Jack Irish. Which is good news for Guy Pearce fans, because the LA Confidential (and Neighbours) actor is always worth a watch. The channel has shown three Jack Irish TV movies during the past few years, and now it’s going to launch into the full series. Rad on for more details…

Based on the books by Peter Temple, Jack Irish follows the eponymous character, a former criminal lawyer who now spends his days as a part-time investigator, debt collector, apprentice cabinet maker, punter, sometime lover punter and finder of those who don’t want to be found – dead or alive. Now, with a six-part series set to kick of in its native Australia later this year, TV Wise reports that FOX UK is eyeing a 2016 transmission date.

Another one to set the video for!

Agree! Guy Pearce seems to float well below the mainstream radar screen and yet he is a consistently rock solid performer. I really enjoyed him–perfectly cast as Monty Beragon– in the Mildred Pierce tv mini-series a few years back. Will have to investigate and see if this series will be available in NA.
