UKTV acquires Criminal Minds spin-off and Quantico for UK

h9uuze5jvovkjbhfclavGary Sinise. You have to love Gary Sinise. He plays uptight very well, and in CSI: New York he was so good as the, well, uptight head of the NYC’s CSI division. So it’s great to see him back in a starring role, and what’s even greater is that British network UKTV is bringing his new series to these shores, as well as a new FBI thriller that just about qualifies as crime drama. Have a read after the jump…

Let’s start with Gary Sinise. This is coming to Watch:

Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders stars Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner Gary Sinise in a drama about the specialised International Division of the FBI tasked with solving crimes and coming to the rescue of American citizens who find themselves in danger while abroad. Heading the department is Unit Chief Jack Garrett (Sinise), a seasoned 20-year veteran of the Bureau whose exceptional agents are dedicated to safely returning U.S. residents home by profiling and identifying criminals who are beyond State borders.

And this is coming to Alibi:

FBI thriller Quantico follows a group of young FBI recruits as they battle their way through training at the Quantico base in Virginia. Intercut between their hidden pasts and their present training, audiences will flash-forward to the near future, where one of the recruits turns out to be a sleeper terrorist responsible for the most devastating terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11. Led by Special Agent Liam (Josh Hopkins), the agent hopefuls include San Francisco beauty Alex, played by Bollywood movie star Priyanka Chopra. Alex is joined at training by Brooklyn hipster Simon (Tate Ellington), golden boy Caleb (Graham Rogers) southern belle Shelby (Johanna Braddy), hijab wearing Nimah (Yasmine Al Massari) and good-looking Ryan (Jake McLaughlin) who manages to seduce Alex before classes even begin.

Look out for these two shows later in the autumn.

I read the first three sentences of this review and actually sputtered with laughter. I kid not. It started in my belly and rose up through my chest and then burst forth with an almighty force right the hell out of my mouth. I even think there was a bit of spittle involved. All I could picture in my mind was that damn perma-pinched Gary Sinise look that has the potential of being the ultimate poster boy face for a million laxative commercials. LOL. I think Gary is a good actor, but man ‘o’ man, much to my amusement, you completely nailed it. He does uptight like no other. teeheeheee
