David Threlfall is one of our best actors, of that there is no doubt. Making his name in Shameless, he’s already appeared in an excellent crime drama this year on ITV (Code Of A Killer) and now he pops up in this three-part adaptation of Phil Rickman’s book. It’s the tale of a female priest (Anna Maxwell Martin) who moves to Hereford in search of a new life and a fresh start.
