Twin Peaks news burst: See who’s returning, who’s coming in and the future of The Log Lady

Standard

22-twin-peaks-cast.w750.h560.2xNext year might seem like a long way away, but in TV land things have already been put in place, and new shows are being cast and filmed as we speak. One of the shows we’re keeping a close eye on is the Twin Peaks revival, which is set to be one of 2017’s star attractions. With filming well under way (or so we hear), new information is beginning to be released seemingly on a weekly basis. Today we have more…

Deadline seems to be the go-to place for Twin Peaks insider news, and yesterday the site published a comprehensive report on who it has heard will be coming back, new cast members and other tidbits of information. In fact, it’s full of information. Yes, all this stuff has yet to be confirmed but it’s tantalising nonetheless.

According to the article – read it here – these are the returning actors and characters:

Kyle MacLachlan (Agent Dale Cooper)
Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer)
Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey Horne)
Mädchen Amick (Shelley Johnson)
Michael Horse (Hawk)
Dana Ashbrook (Bobby Briggs)
Miguel Ferrer (Albert Rosenfeld)
Ray Wise (Leland Palmer)
Grace Zabriskie (Sarah Palmer)
Peggy Lipton (Norma Jennings)
Everett McGill (Ed Hurley)
Wendy Robie (Nadine Hurley)
James Marshall (James Hurley)
Al Strobel (Mike, the one-armed man)
Kimmy Robertson (Lucy Moran)
Harry Goaz (Andy Brennan)
Charlotte Stewart (Betty Briggs)
Gary Hershberger (Mike Nelson)
Harry Dean Stanton (Carl Rodd)

Reporter Nellie Andrews goes on to detail the new members of the cast:

Grant Goodeve, Larry Clarke and Caleb Landry Jones, Amanda Seyfried, Naomi Watts, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Laura Dern, Robert Knepper, James Belushi, Tom Sizemore and Balthazar Getty.

Other bits? (Yes, there are more.) Las Vegas may play a large role in the series, while “rumor is that Catherine E. Coulson, who played the beloved log lady in the original, may have filmed a handful of scenes before her death in September. It’s unclear if they would be used.”

That’s a lot of exciting (potential) news to digest in one sitting, and an enormous cast to process. I’ll need a coffee and a slice of cherry pie to help it all go down…
