Kim Bodnia reveals real reasons for leaving The Bridge – and they’re not what you think

Ever since Kim Bodnia announced that he was to leave The Bridge, and thus break up one of crime dramas most beloved police partnerships, speculation has been rife as to why he did what he did. Heck, we’ve even had a go ourselves (see that post here). He’s remained very quiet for the last few years, but now he’s spoken, and he’s given a pretty shocking reason for his departure from the hit show.

Review: Gotham (S2 E6/22), Monday 15th February, Channel 5

One thing you have to give Gotham is that it gives plenty of screen time to its female protagonists, even if most of them seem to end up dead or demented. Certainly this episode brings closure to two female plot strands, and neither of them are happy endings.
