It’s a good day today – that LA-based adaptation of Michael Connelly’s novel, Bosch, cranks up on Amazon Prime for a second series. Prime members can stream all 10 episodes of the show from, like, now if they want to. Which is nice. I have to confess I haven’t seen this yet, although friends tell me it’s very good and I like the idea of it – it looks and feels like an old-fashioned, hard-boiled procedural noir that gives the city of LA a prominence that makes it almost a character in itself. Anyway, there’s a trailer after the jump to whet your appetites.
Back on the job after an involuntary leave of absence, Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver), the tenacious LAPD homicide detective at the heart of Michael Connelly’s best-selling novels, is ready for action, and his new case may prove his biggest challenge yet. A dead body found in the trunk of a car on Mulholland Drive appears to have a mob connection and leads Bosch and his investigation to Las Vegas. As the case becomes more complex, and intensely personal, Bosch follows a dangerous trail of corruption and collusion, one that uncovers the dark side of the police department and threatens Bosch’s relentless pursuit of the truth.
