Tomorrow night sees the first ever TV show from the mind of Harlan Coben – the award-winning, best-selling crime fiction legend. Coben collaborated with Danny Brocklehurst (Shameless) to tell the story of a group of friends whose lives are turned upside down when a tragic incident from their childhood suddenly comes back to haunt them. When a missing boy’s DNA turns up at a crime scene, 20 years after his mysterious disappearance, his older brother Mark (Tom Cullen) and childhood friends Danny (O-T Fagbenle), Pru (Sarah Solemani) and Slade (Lee Ingleby) are forced come to terms with the fact that Jesse could be back. They were the last people to see Jesse alive all those years ago and dark secrets from the past are about to be unearthed. Channel 4/Walter Presents acquires Danish crime drama, Norskov

Screen Shot 2016-04-14 at 17.47.40Denmark’s Follow The Money is about to end this weekend, but have no fear – there’s another Danish crime drama on the horizon. Norskov is its name and, according to the Scanilo.us website, it has been picked up by Channel 4/Walter Presents for transmission here in the UK. The show gave its native TV2 channel its biggest ever ratings, so perhaps we should prepare ourselves for more Scandi-candy. BBC announces Hinterland transmission date

hinterland-pagehero2I’ve been away for a few days, so I’m just catching up with the news and one significant piece is that one of this site’s favourite shows – Welsh drama, Hinterland – will finally be returning to BBC4 in a few weeks’ time. We’ve had our spate of Scandinavian and Nordic dramas, for now, so it’s time to head to the stunningly bleak Ceredigion region of Wales to catch up with DI Tom Matthias and his team. ITV announces cast for season three of Broadchurch

That was when Chris Chibnall’s Broadchurch took the country by storm, becoming arguably the crime drama that set off this huge deluge of quality stuff we’re seeing at the moment. That first series was truly something special, and even if the second series didn’t live up to the first, there was still David Tennant and Olivia Colman to enjoy. Chibnall will soon be off to helm Doctor Who, but first he’s giving us a third instalment of the crime drama and ITV has announced who will be starring in it.
