Sky Atlantic reveals first trailer from Fortitude season two

_AS02788_1Fortitude was a big-budget, wow-cast crime/horror mash-up from 2014 and it was good, if completely barmy stuff, telling the story of a small community in Iceland who slowly went insane after some ancient virus was disturbed and began to wreak havoc in the 21st century. We all know that’s returning in early 2017 for a second series, and now Sky Atalntic has released the first trailer from the new run.

That first series of Sky’s biggest homegrown drama to date starred the likes of Sofie Gråbøl, Richard Dormer, Luke Treadaway and Darren Boyd (who are all returning), and in this new series Dennis Quaid, Parminder Nagra, Ken Stott, Michelle Fairley and Robert Sheehan join in the daftness.

Here’s the trailer:

It’s unclear whether the crime element will be as prevalent in this series, or take a back seat tot the horror. We’ll soon find out…

Just saw the trailer in Youtube and the release date was January 2017 on SkyAtlantic – which one is it? You mentioned this autumn…

        Sorry Seija, I’ll amend…

  2. Ryan says:

If I remember correctly, although it was filmed in Iceland, it was meant to be taking place in a Norwegian settlement like Svalbard, no?

  3. Seija says:

Yes Ryan, filmed on Iceland and the story takes place somewhere in the Arctic.
Come to think of it, these must be the same regions where Trapped was filmed?
In my opinion both Fortitude and Trapped have a very similar feel to them because of the filming locations – even the stories are a bit alike. One might go as far as to say that Trapped is a more sane version of Fortitude…
