the-fall-season-3-teaser-2Things are pretty tasty in the world of crime drama at the moment, with the autumn and winter season’s big, new heavy hitters now swinging for the fences. With the likes of National Treasure and The Night Of continuing, they’re joined by two new series this week – Gillian Anderson’s The Fall and ITV’s The Level. Once again, there’s brand-new crime drama on every night of the week, including the return of Beck after a week’s break. You DVR is set to take a pounding.

1 The Fall *NEW UK PREMIERE SERIES*
Stella Gibson has finally arrested Paul Spector, but he has been shot by jealous husband James Tyler, leaving the staff at Belfast General Hospital battling to save his life. As the shooting hits the news, the powers-that-be question Gibson’s handling of the case, while Spector’s young partner-in-crime Katie plots to help him.

2 National Treasure *NEW UK PREMIERE EPISODE*
Paul and his family have to deal with the pressure of mounting allegations against him, and Dee confronts her former babysitter, Christina, now one of the star’s accusers. Marie is rattled to discover she was away on the nights Paul is accused of assaulting her, and the accused gives a radio interview, determined to put his side of the story.

3 The Night Of *UK PREMIERE EPIPSODE*
As the trial goes ahead, Chandra takes the helm for the defence, while Box retraces Naz’s steps on the night of the crime. Elsewhere, Stone confronts a witness.

4 DCI Banks *NEW UK PREMIERE EPISODE*
The team tries to find out who was responsible for the brutal stabbing of a fellow officer, but their dogged police work is thwarted when it is proven that their main suspect is not to blame. Meanwhile, as Chief Superintendent Anderson puts pressure on Helen to close the case, Banks becomes certain that one man is the perpetrator, but when his obsession sends him over the edge, Anderson questions if he is up to the job.

The murder of someone close to Drake stirs up conflict between him and Reid that plunges the whole of H Division into turmoil. Drake also faces pressure from another direction, when Rose begins to suspect that Susan has somehow survived her public hanging, and sets out to prove she is still alive. Susan and Jackson make plans for the robbery that will allow them to leave Whitechapel behind for ever.

Detective Sergeant Nancy Devlin has a secret double life – her exemplary police career masks a covert attachment to shady businessman and drugs trafficker Frank Le Saux. However, she finds herself at the centre of an investigation that puts her at risk of exposure and sees her stalked by a killer intent on destroying her.

An ex-policeman is found murdered in his house, along with his wife and child, leading Beck and the team to some startling discoveries as they investigate how the victim came to possess a stash of stolen weapons.

9 Paranoid *NEW UK PREMIERE EPISODE*
Pressure mounts on the team to wrap up the case, although things prove not to be that simple when Bobby, Nina and Alec uncover clues suggesting the murder was more than just a random attack. But chasing a lead turns out to have devastating consequences for one member of the team.
