The 10 Best Crime Dramas This Week (Monday 24th – Sunday 30th October)

Standard

y-gwyll-threeIt’s a relatively big week in crime drama land, with one of the better and cult hits returning for a third and, potentially, third series. Yes, Hinterland (or Y Gwyll) is back on S4C. I’d urge you to watch it on the Welsh-language channel because, well, you should always try and watch something from its source, and there are English subtitles available. Elsewhere, there’s the final two episodes of The Fall stripped over the Friday and Saturday nights. Enjoy!

The killing of a local minister leads to DCI Tom Mathias and DS Mared Rhys to a remote community in the mountains. Confronted by a family in grief and a community in shock, they must tread carefully as they investigate the life and violent death of the troubled victim. As the case unfolds, DS Siân Owens leads a separate investigation into the recent attack on Mathias; an attack that left his home destroyed and his skull split open. DS Owens’ investigation is an unwelcome distraction for Mathias and he struggles to keep his emotions in check as the two cases unfold.
