Standard

holliday-grainger-2Well, hot on the heels of news of a returning series for 2017, I read news of an all-new crime drama for next year – the BBC’s adaptation of Robert Galbraith’s Cormoran Strike novels. We brought you this news some time ago (here if you want to have a nose) and that Tom Burke was to play the ex-war-vet-turned-private detective in three adaptations. Now we have more cast details…

So we now read this from Deadline, who reports that British actress Holliday Grainger has now signed on for the female lead:

Cormoran Strike centers on Strike (Burke), a war veteran turned private detective operating out of a tiny office in London’s Denmark Street. Though he’s wounded both physically and psychologically, Strike’s unique insight and his background as an SIB Investigator prove crucial in solving three complex cases which have eluded the police. Grainger will play Robin Venetia Ellacott, Strike’s assistant and secretary.

Grainger recently starred in Lady Chatterley’s Lover and made a name for herself in The Borgias.

More news as we get it…
