Ian Rankin announces festival to mark 30th anniversary of Rebus



It’s hard to believe but 2017 marks the 30th anniversary of Rebus, Ian Rankin’s brilliant detective and brilliant, award-winning, best-selling series. Twenty books later, Detective Inspector John Rebus is now an international institution, not only a publishing phenomenon but also a very good TV adaptation. It started with John Hannah, but really took flight when Ken Stott took on the role and even though there haven’t been any new Rebuses in a few years, you can still catch them on channels like Drama and Alibi in repeat form. In the meantime, Rankin has announced that there will be a Rebus Festival in June to celebrate the anniversary. Continue reading
