The 10 Best Crime Dramas This Week (Monday 10th – Sunday 16th July)

Last week, I got something wrong: Twin Peaks took a week off because of holiday celebrations in the US. But it’s definitely back this week. Elsewhere, Ripper Street moves to 9.30pm because of the tennis, and Fargo continues this week at 10.30pm. There are two new series, too: an adaptation of Mark Billingham’s two Helen Weeks books, named here as In The Dark, and a new BBC Four series from Spain, I Know Who You Are. Enjoy!

Nicki is arrested in connection with Ray’s death and is questioned by Chief Dammik, who suspects that she killed him in retaliation for abuse, while Gloria asks Winnie to tell Emmit about his brother and gauge his reaction.

Thatcher finds Robin and puts the boy into the care of Reid, Jackson and Long Susan, who manage to uncover information that they hope may lead them to Nathaniel. They arrive at the Sumner house only to discover it has been cleaned and the two bodies disposed of. Shine turns up and is surprised to learn of the true identity of the killer and heads of to confront Augustus Dove about his brother, but the assistant commissioner manages to persuade Shine that Reid is the bigger threat.

As DI Helen Weeks grapples apprehensively with pregnancy, she is compelled to return to her loathed rural hometown of Polesford, Derbyshire, with her partner and fellow detective Paul Hopkins. Two girls have been abducted and the man arrested is the husband of Helen’s childhood best friend Linda Bates, who has been drawn into the centre of a media storm, while the local police force is under enormous pressure to get their man. But is he guilty?

6 Dicte – Crime Reporter *NEW UK PREMIERE SERIES*
A local `wellness expert’ is found murdered in unusual circumstances. There are several suspects in the frame, but Dicte and Wagner find themselves chasing down a secret lover. Despite overwhelming evidence in one direction, the pair cannot shake the feeling that something doesn’t add up. Dicte accidentally comes between Torsten and Anne when dealing with Rose, who wants to leave home, and when she unearths a fresh lead in the case of the `wellness queen’, she finds a mysterious gift that the victim had given to a gardener with learning disabilities. Meanwhile, things get more serious between Bo and Dicte, and Wagner is oblivious to an office romance.

As Kevin fights for his life in hospital, the US air force lets Emma meet in secret with Logan, who tells her he was in a relationship with Linda before her death and reveals that the pair were introduced at the air base by her Uncle Phil. Meanwhile, DCS Greenwood phones Heather to request that Emma be returned to the UK so she can be arrested for conspiracy, Dominic visits Miriam in prison and Matthew Wild rallies support as he prepares for the leadership election.

A body is pulled from the Loch, and a photograph in his wallet provides a vital clue. Annie tries to gather further evidence by talking to a desperate Mhari, who refuses to believe the terrifying possibility she is presented with. Albrighton is threatened with arrest by Quigley, but nevertheless continues to pursue his own theory about the killings – even if it means putting his life on the line.
