But the news that series two of the Swedish crime drama had drafted in big names like Kim Cattrall, Greg Wise and Bill Campbell but us all sit up and take notice. The series is set to start in Sweden next Thursday (2nd November) on CMore, and materials have been released ahead of its transmission.

Here’s a mixed language trailer:

We’re promised betrayal, revenge and secrets. But the big news is that Kim Cattrall plays the American president and Greg Wise playing the role of an FBI boss, which almost overshadows another key ingredient in Modas – Inger Johanne and Ingvar now not only together but also Inger Johanne is expecting.

The action series two is based on a state visit. US President Helen Tyler visits Stockholm and from there things go wrong: she disappears without a trace. Consequently, a power struggle between different authorities is in progress and Inger Johanne and Ingvar get involved in the search. In addition, Warren Shifford (Greg Wise), Inger Johannes’s former mentor from the FBI and the President’s closest ally, is also in Stockholm. Inger Johanne is forced to confront painful secrets from his past.

It’s not clear whether BBC Four has picked up this second series for broadcast in the UK, so we’ll wait and see what happens.

While I’m not necessarily on tenterhooks, it’s nice to see that versatile Danish actress Paprika Steen has a part.

Loved Season 1. This one is a big (American-styled) dud. Even our Danish heroine is less interesting than before.
