It’s my favourite time of the year. Not only is it Christmas but it’s a chance to look back through the year and sort out the wheat from the chaff. But it’s not just us. Oh no. Every year we ask a bunch of actual, bona fide, best-selling, award-winning crime authors what they’ve been watching during the past 12 months and tell us what their favourites are. And it makes sense, too, right? Books are turned into TV series; and TV series influence book writers. ITV recommissions Dark Heart for full series

You may remember that last year Tom Riley starred as DI Will Wagstaffe in the entertaining Dark Heart for ITV Encore. Now ITV has commissioned drama label Silverprint Pictures to produce a full, six-part series with Riley returning as DI Will Wagstaffe, a man haunted by the murder of his parents when he was 16 years old.
