RÚK releases first footage from series two of Trapped

Filming doesn’t end until way after Christmas, but Iceland’s RVK Studios gave all fans of Trapped a Christmas treat yesterday – it released the first trailer from series two on its facebook page. Well, it’s not really a trailer, but more of a snippet. Take a look after the jump…

Back in our story detailing the start of filming a few months ago, we said this:

Not only do we get a promise of disaster, death and terror, but director and producer Baltasar Kormákur has also given us a hint of what series two might contain, plot-wise… and it all starts with some dead sheep.

“It’s amazing to be back in Siglufjörður. It’s very unfortunate to start with 40 dead sheep, but you have to start somewhere,” said Kormákur. “There is a protest [in the town] about power plants and the potential construction of an aluminium smelter. And it is here in the square in Siglufjörður and farmers are crazy. And this launches an event that can not handle the end.”

Anyway, enough blather… here’s the footage…

Gleðilega hátíð indeed. This will surely be the top series of next autumn regardless of what else might be on.

*grinding teeth here* On one hand I am thinking, they have the audacity to wish us Gleðilega hátíð/Happy Holidays even though they know it’s a long wait till autumn for us mortals and, on the other hand, I’m clapping my hands with joy eagerly as a child on Christmas Eve/Day (depending where you live ;) who has just received a present of their dreams. I can’t decide which.
Even this short snippet of a film made me squirm with anticipation. SO loking forward to this one.
On that note, wishing you CC and Paul Happy Holidays!

…And even better, …CC and Paul, wishing you Happy Holidays!

        Happy Holidays, Seija!

I like seeing this. It’s on it’s way even if we have to wait a while yet. At some point the days will have gone by and then we get our treat.

There’s a problem for new years day :O I was checking DR’s guide to see if they would be broadcasting at 8 pm (their normal crime time) but they’re not. So it’ll be 9 pm regardless but they are also showing Under Sandet (Land of Mine) at 10 pm which probably won’t be available on their streaming site. It’ll be Beck at midnight for me. So much drama all at once!

Just read an article about Trapped season two on Cinema Scandinavia https://www.cinemascandinavia.com/season-two-of-trapped-films-in-downtown-reykjavik/ – after which I had to go to my “happy place”, ie. youtube and the soundtrack of Trapped – and wanted to share. The wait till autumn is sooooooooo long!

Jökull Júlíusson has an amazing voice.

It really is a loooong wait. Haha, I may have to try it straight from RÚV with subs when the time comes. Hopefully we’ll get it quickly over here though, Seija ;)

Yes, he has. I bought Kaleo’s album A/C just to hear him sing on repeat. Ha, it would be hopeless to try to understand Icelandic even with subs as it’s way too “old Norse of the ancient Vikings” :)

That album is great from start to finish. (I quite like this video where they are doing Automobile with Friðrik Dór https://youtu.be/t-0XkFqTPXI )

I tried watching Fangar that way but gave up and waited for it to reach Scandinavia. Still, I may try harder for Trapped 2 :)

Good for you for trying! Subs work somewhat with Danish and Norwegian, but Icelandic… Forget about it.

Yep, it’s a great album which I listen to a lot. All the songs are captivating. Their music is used on other soundtracks and even in commercials, as well, to no surprise. It’s that good.
