The 10 Best Crime Dramas This Week (Monday 19th – Sunday 25th March)

It’s pretty much as you were this week, except for a few notable series finales. On Tuesday, we say farewell to series five of Shetland – which has been very good – and then, next Saturday, it’s the final episode of Mosaic. Also, Before We Die returns after its week off. Enjoy!

S1 E4/6
A police recording of a distressed 999 call from Jody is traced to Streatham, while Nelly finds a unique way of locating the property his daughter was held in. Claire helps him break into the house, where they make a shocking discovery.

S4 E6/6
Troubled by historical DNA evidence results, Jimmy has to face the fact that Duncan may have been involved in Lizzie Kilmuir’s murder, and potentially Sally McColl’s as well. A shocked Duncan is brought to the station for questioning, hurt that Perez would even think him capable of murder. However, the detective knows Duncan’s lying – perhaps not about the murder, but about something else significant.

April 1997 sees Andrew Cunanan lure former acquaintance Jeff Trail to the Minneapolis loft-apartment of his current lover David Madson, where he bludgeons him to death. Madson ponders his own life and is forced to accompany Cunanan as he escapes to Mexico. Meanwhile, as police question Madson’s parents, matters come to a head between the two runners.

S1 E3/13
A loyal civil servant is brutally executed in his girlfriend’s home. No one can explain who would want to kill him, until Liese discovers his unusual ‘pastime’ and is faced with some questionable practices in Superintendent Stevenier’s narcotics division, which has been pursuing a notorious drug dealer. Meanwhile, Liese’s e-mail correspondent is pleased with her actions.
Friday 16th March, 9pm, More4

S2 E5/8
Retracing the route of the lorry and the car from the train crash, the team is able to deduce the area in which Adam was picked up and the vehicle was stolen. Officers are dispatched to the area and come across an old abandoned house with a bloody handprint on the door and what they find inside the house shocks Marcella and Rav to their core as the true scale of the killer’s crimes become apparent. Meanwhile, Reg tells Alan that he wants to come clean to the police.

A player dies violently during a cricket match, and Murdoch and Brackenreid try to ascertain how the ball was rigged with a bomb.

The search for a serial killer in the area around Loch Ness becomes a matter of life and death for local detective Annie Redford, who is trying to cope with her first murder case. When the body of a local man is found at the foot of Carn Mohr Mountain and an isolated human heart on the loch shore, the town’s normality is shattered and the nightmare begins.

        Thanks. I’m not surprised. I always avoid the “next time” bits they tag onto the ends of programmes. They seem desperate to spoil their own programmes.

    We were gifted some surprises in the States with S4 of The Bridge (Hulu) and S2 of Occupied (Netflix) now available for viewing.

    Everything I’ve tried recently I’ve ditched, which isn’t like me at all. Then I discovered that Thicker Than Water series 2 is on All 4…whoop!
