HBO names transmission date for series two of The Deuce

So highly did we rate series one of David Simon and George Pelecanos’s The Deuce, we voted it as number two in our Top 20 Crime Dramas Of The Year in 2017 (read our roll call here). The tale of pimps and sex workers, dreamers and scammers, cops and robbers and bartenders and failures all trying to make do in a rancid part of New York in the early 1970s, it sometimes wasn’t an easy watch, but so detailed, involving and rich was the characterisation – what do you expect when it comes to David Simon? – it was a must-watch.

We know that a second series is on the way, and now HBO – its home broadcaster in the US – has announced its series two premiere date.

Nothing much is known of the plot yet, but that’s ok – just look at that poster. Punk, disco and porn in seedy, downtown New York? Sign us up!

We’re expecting this to hit Sky Atlantic on Monday 10th September. We will, of course, bring you confirmation as soon as we have it.
