As regular readers will know, we’re all over anything new and Swedish and crime dramery, so it’s great to hear that a new series is in the pipeline.
According to Expressen, White Walls takes place mainly in a mining community in northern Sweden. There, the chief engineer Lars Ruud leads the work of creating one of the world’s largest storage system of nuclear waste. The project is heavily delayed, as activists do their best to delay the opening of the facility. A mysterious accident deep down in a mining shaft takes three people’s lives and becomes the start of the series’ main story – at the same time, a foreign object that no one can explain is exposed. Ruud’s team begins to crack because no one knows what to do with the unknown object.
The eight-part series Mattias Nordkvist, Aksel Hennie, Eero Milonoff and Ardalan Esmaili are set to star, and it will appear on SVT in 2020.
