Stella Blómkvist to hit Sundance Now in April

Poldark star, Heida Reed, confirmed on her Instagram account a few days ago that Stella Blómkvist – the much-anticipated Icelandic series from Viaplay – would come to the UK.

Now we know where and when.

Sundance Now streaming service has added Stella Blómkvist to its global canon of crime dramas (see here), and has slated an April premiere date for the series. At the moment the only way to subscribe to Sundance Now in the UK is as an Amazon add on channel.

In the US, meanwhile, the series is set to premiere on 31st January.

Based on a series of first-person novels penned by the pseudonymous Stella Blómkvist, a hard-nosed lawyer who takes on mysterious murder cases, the series delves into the murky waters of Icelandic politics, recently in the news in the aftermath of the “Panama Papers” scandal.
