It’s difficult to get too excited about a show that hasn’t aired in the UK yet (we’ve got 4th April circled on our calendar), but Icelandic crime drama, Stella Blómkvist, has been getting rave review for its first series.
It’s going to air on the Sundance Now channel here in both the US and UK (which is available via Amazon Prime), and we’ve received news that it has been renewed for a second series.
Heida Reed stars as a quick-witted lawyer who is smart and ruthless, with a dark past, a fluid sexuality and a taste for whiskey and easy money. In series one, Stella takes on cases that always lead to danger; and the only thing she likes about rules is breaking them, or using them to break her opponents.
The show’s makers – Sagafilm for Viaplay – will get back to work on series. More news as we get it…
