During its two series, Netflix show Mindhunter has attracted an army of fans thanks to its slow-burning, intricate study of serial killers.
But now news reaches us that the series has been put on ‘indefinite hold’ and that cast members have been released from their contracts. Showrunner David Fincher is said to be concentrating on other projects before he revisits the show.
TV Line reports: “David is focused on directing his first Netflix film Mank and on producing the second season of Love, Death and Robots. He may revisit Mindhunter again in the future, but in the meantime felt it wasn’t fair to the actors to hold them from seeking other work while he was exploring new work of his own.”
Despite this bad news, the report also stated that the show has not been cancelled.
It just looks as though we’re going to have to wait for a third run.
