The 10 Best Crime Dramas This Week (Monday 3rd – Sunday 9th February)

It’s a big week in crime drama land. Channel 4’s excellent Baghdad Central kicks off on Monday, and later in the week we get Sarah Phelps’ latest Agatha Christie, The Pale Horse, the new series of Endeavour and the new, French series Just One Look at More 4. Enjoy!

The village is a place of old traditions, macabre rituals and strange beliefs, a place of witches, curses and spells, and as more deaths occur Mark starts to fear for his own life and sanity.

It is October 2003 and Iraq is occupied by a US-led coalition when ex-police inspector Muhsin al-Khafaji finds out his elder daughter Sawsan has gone missing while working as an interpreter. When he is asked to help rebuild a new Iraqi police service by British policeman Frank Temple, Khafaji has to decide whether to become a collaborator to gain access to the secure Green Zone and further his search for his daughter.

A woman and her family leading a peaceful life in France find their world turned upside-down after a photograph arrives in the mail. It depicts four people, including her husband, with a woman’s face scratched out. Bastien tells Eva that it isn’t him in the photo, before leaving to take the children to a concert. That night, she gets a call claiming Bastien has disappeared, leaving behind the children. Eva learns that her husband has been in contact with the manager of a pole-dancing club and is left to wonder where he is and what has he been up to.

Meanwhile, Leonard tries to reunite the warring Chapmans, who seem determined never to see eye-to-eye again.

The Midsomer Museum of the Family is packed with visitors to see a collection of miniature dolls houses donated by a real estate mogul – only for the businessman to be shot dead in front of the crowd. Barnaby’s investigation uncovers evidence of unsafe living conditions for the victim’s tenants that would have given plenty of people a reason to kill – as well as a mysterious death that a man was imprisoned for, despite protesting his innocence.
