Netflix releases first trailer for series two of Altered Carbon

Series one of Altered Carbon was an in an interesting addition to the crime drama genre, and mixed Blade Runner-style sci-fi with traditional noir.

Based on the classic cyberpunk noir novel by Richard K. Morgan, the series is an intriguing story of murder, love, sex, and betrayal, set more than 300 years in the future.

Society has been transformed by new technology: consciousness can be digitised; human bodies are interchangeable; death is no longer permanent.

Series two is on the way, and now we have a trailer.

As we reported a few months ago, Anthony Mackie takes over the role of Takeshi Kovacs from Joel Kinnaman.

Joining the cast in this series are Simone Missick as Trepp, an expert bounty hunter known for her ability to track down anyone in the Settled Worlds… for the right price; Dina Shihabi as Dig 301, an out-of-work A.I. programmed to assist human archaeologists, who finds a new purpose when she meets Poe; Torben Liebrecht as Colonel Ivan Carrera, the dogged leader of a Protectorate Special Forces unit known as the “Wedge”, who are hunting Kovacs; Lela Loren as Danica Harlan, the charming and ambitious governor of planet Harlan’s World; And James Saito as Tanaseda Hideki, a centuries-old Yakuza boss who controls organized crime on Harlan’s World and shares a history with Kovacs.
