The 10 Best Crime Dramas This Week (Monday 24th February – Sunday 1st March)

It’s a nice-looking week this week in crime TV land, with two new series on ITV – the four-part Flesh And Blood (stripped across four days) and the two-part McDonald & Dodds. Elsewhere, a new series from New Zealand – The Gulf – looks worth a watch. Enjoy!

Parodi raids an Iraqi home as he searches for the key to the attack on the Green Zone and finds a photograph of Candy, Zahra and an unknown third female. Discovering that his money is missing, Temple concocts trumped up accusations of war crimes against Khafaji to have him arrested.

When recently widowed Vivien announces her love for a new man, Mark, it throws her family of adult children into chaos. The siblings’ suspicions about Mark are fuelled by rising tensions in their own lives. Helen’s focus on her job has led to a rift in her marriage, Jake’s gambling debts have caused his wife and kids to leave him, and Natalie is lying to everybody about her secret relationship. Meanwhile, Vivien’s neighbour, Mary, is simply trying to protect the family she has known for years. But in a few weeks one of these people will be lying on the beach, terribly injured – perhaps dead.

Mystery drama set in Bath, where the wildly ambitious DCI McDonald finds herself paired with the shy, modest DS Dodds, who has languished on the shelf for most of his working life. However, it soon turns out the unassuming sergeant has a hidden talent for puzzle solving. Their first case sees the pair looking into the shooting of a homeless man in the deserted mansion of local industrialist Max Crockett. The Crockett appear to be a close-knit group but it soon becomes clear they have secrets to hide.

Jess had worked the original missing person’s case and is determined not to be kept from the investigation now.
