The Investigation: new trailer released

If ITV’s Des is currently wetting your whistle, stand by for another high-profile true crime adaptation.

Denmark’s The Investigation (Efterforskningen)  – which will be broadcast by the BBC later in the year – and looks set to be another emotional rollercoaster.

Last week, Danish channel TV2 released the first (wordless) teaser, now it has released another, more detailed trailer ahead of its 28th September premiere.

(Warning: this trailer is in Danish, but you’ll get a good flavour.)

The series will document the murder of Swedish journalist Kim Wall by Danish entrepreneur Peter Madsen.

Søren Malling leads the cast as Jens Møller, the Head of Homicide for the Copenhagen Police, alongside Pilou Asbæk as the prosecutor Jakob Buch-Jepsen and Pernilla August and Rolf Lassgård as Kim Wall’s parents, Ingrid and Joachim Wall. Further cast includes Laura Christensen, Anders Juul, Henrik Birch, Hans Henrik Clemensen, Dulfi Al-Jabouri and Charlotte Munck.

The series focusses on the Copenhagen Police and Head of Homicide, Jens Møller’s investigation and follows the methodical, unusual and technical work that enabled them to solve the murder of 30-year-old Wall.
