NORDIC NOIR Young Wallander series two confirmed

Young Wallander is coming back for a second series.

The Netflix adaptation of Henning Mankell’s celebrated series of novels made its debut on the streaming platform and its expected the second run will debut in 2021.

Co-writer Chris Lunt took to Twitter to share the news.

Lunt – who wrote ITV’s Prey and Sky’s Devils – said: “Been a real joy to work on this throughout lockdown. Almost kept us sane. Coming to Netflix worldwide in 2021, season 1 available now.”

It’s expected Adam Pålsson will return as the young detective, but there’s no more word on casting yet.

Series one saw Mankell’s characters transposed to modern-day Malmö and much younger, investigating a brutal murder on the housing estate he lives in.

    What a world we live in where Mindhunter was scrapped by Fincher due to an apparent lack of viewers on Netflix – whilst this inexplicably did well enough to garner a recommission?

    No you misunderstood Fincher. Mindhunter was TOO expensive for the number of viewers. Young Wallander sucks nut its probably not expensive to produce
