Adaptations of true crime are all the rage these days, and there’s another one on the horizon, this time from Sweden.
And there’s none bigger true crime story in Sweden than the murder of Prime Minister Olof Palme in 1986.
The five-part The Unlikely Murderer dramatises how a man claiming to be a witness at the assassination of Palme may have gotten away with murder. This fictional interpretation shows how Stig Engström, the graphic designer who was named as Palme’s probable murderer, managed to elude justice right up to his death through a combination of audacity, luck and a perplexed police force.
It stars Robert Gustafsson, Peter Andersson and Mikael Persbrandt, and will drop on 5th November.
