The Turkish Detective reveals cast and broadcast channel

A while back we brought you the news that Barbara Nadel’s Çetin İkmen novels had been optioned for television.

Now we not only know who’s starring in the Istanbul-set series – now called The Turkish Detective – but where you’ll be able to watch it.

According to Deadline, Haluk Bilginer (pictured) will play Detective Inspector Çetin İkmen. Additionally, Ethan Kai plays DI Mehmet Suleyman and Yasemin Kay Allen plays Detective Ayse Farsakoglu.

The Turkish Detective will be an eight-part series and will premiere on new streaming service, Paramount+.

A Paramount+ spokesperson said: “The Turkish Detective is a universally intriguing crime thriller set against the landscape of one of the most stunning, culturally rich cities in the world. We look forward to seeing Barbara Nadel’s incredible novels come to life in this series for Paramount+’s growing global audience.”
