We’re still trying to work out what we think about another Dexter Morgan series, but that matters not – the origin series is starting to take some serious shape.
We’re now hearing that Sarah Michelle Geller – herself a bit of a TV icon from the 1990s thanks to her role in Buffy The Vampire Slayer – has signed up for Dexter: Original Sin.
Deadline reports that Gellar will play Tanya Martin, the CSI Chief at the Miami Metro Police Department and Dexter Morgan’s (Patrick Gibson) new boss.
The 10-episode inset in 1991 Miami, follows Dexter, a student who is refining his killer skills with the help and support of his adoptive father Harry (Christian Slater). As his only confidant, Harry teaches Dexter a code that’s designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to die — all while avoiding getting caught by law enforcement. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.
More news as we get it.
