Six Must-see new US crime dramas this autumn

 

The nights are drawing in, which can only mean one thing. It’s autumn. Or fall if you’re American. It also means that here’s a new batch of crime dramas about to start in the US, which will inevitable make their way over to the UK at some point in the future. That’s two things. With a host of new stuff starting as early as today (Monday 22nd September), the new season has definitely started. So I thought I’d take a look at what’s out there and what looks like investing your time in. Aside from the usual-sounding stuff, there’s a drama on cable network Showtime that has the potential to be one of the most intriguing and best of the season.

Debra Messing lands detective pilot

Debra Messing, ex of Will & Grace and Smash, has landed the lead role in a new detective procedural called The Mysteries Of Laura. TV Line reports that the pilot – which will air on US network NBC – is based on the Spanish series, Los Mysterios De Laura and follows the life of a homicide detective. Away from the day-job Laura has problems at home with her ‘hell-raising’ twin children. Sounds a bit The Closer to us, but let’s see how this one pans out.
