Vote for your favourite crime drama of 2018

Tell us your favourites!

Last week we published our Top 20 best crime dramas of the year, a countdown that saw American Crime Story: The Assassination Of Gianni Versace win the coveted prize.

But did you agree with us? There were plenty of amazing series festooned throughout the year – from the last ever series of The Bridge, series three of Unforgotten, Trust, Sharp Objects, Killing Eve… the list goes on.

So we’re giving you the opportunity to vote. Tell us your favourite series of the year, and if it’s not on the list, leave a comment and tell us your favourite!

  1. My favourite was Rebecka Martinsson: Arctic Murders. As an aside, I stopped receiving emails from The Killing Times around Christmas time but am still down as ‘subscribed’. There is nothing in my Junk folder – please can you help (sorry, but I could not find another way to contact you). Thank you!

    1. Hi Elizabeth. Thanks for your suggestion, and I’m so sorry this has happened – it seems WordPress has a mind of its own sometimes. I’ll look into it!

    1. Yes, we do. I agree. But be careful what you wish for… According to the plan (as read in a Finnish paper) Deadwind 2 will start shooting early this year, and Deadwind 3 will do the same early 2020 ;)

      1. The only downside with Deadwind 2 and 3 is that s2 will air in Finland early 2020 and will show internationally in the summer of ’20 (?), and that s3 hasn’t been officially confirmed by the YLE, yet.

  2. I think the results show that your readers do not agree with you at all. I tried watching American Crime Story but I just couldn’t get into it. I voted for The Bridge. I loved it and bits of me made me cry. And I did love Unforgotten – the interview scene in the final episode was AMAZING.

I know you gave the Belgians a honourable mention but I really rated Tabula Rasa, 13 Commandments, and Professor T. I also watched De Dag over Christmas and that was cleverly done, tho the end was disappointing and I’m still trying to figure out why they made Jeroen Perceval that god-awful wig. I thought it would be brought into the plot, but it wasn’t, so it seemed pointless. It was so obviously a wig tho it took me a whole episode who it was underneath it!

    1. No worries Kate, that’s what it’s all about – opinions! (And, to be fair, we did put The Bridge and Unforgotten at numbers three and two respectively, so we weren’t altogether out of whack.)

  3. Gosh how do you choose!! So many good ones there and so different. How do you compare Craith to Killing Eve for example. But like other people have said I couldn’t get into The Assassination of Gianni Versace. However Manhunt also based on true events was excellent.
