The 10 Best Crime Dramas This Week (Monday 4th – Sunday 10th April)

Here we go then. Hans Rosenfeldt’s first ever British-based crime series is upon us – a complex, twisty-turny eight-part thriller starring Anna Friel as the aforementioned Marcella. Elsewhere, the third episode of the astonishingly good Line Of Duty will no doubt wow us with all sorts of shenanigans, while there’s also an intriguing one-off on Channel 4 called The People Next Door, which is well worth a watch.

Tomorrow sees the start of Hans Rosenfeldt’s first ever British language series. Marcella stars Anna Friel as a detective in the middle of a marriage break-up who is lured back into the force after new bodies appear that seem to follow the same modus operandi a case she worked on a decade ago did. It looks to have that same dark, multi-stranded feel Rosenfeldt’s other great work – The Bridge – does, so we’re looking forward to digging in and being taken on a ride.
